Re: Furious at CVS Covid testing

@cozyseeker   Nothing will change unless you call or write to the manager of that CVS store with your complaints.  It pays to speak up.

Re: Furious at CVS Covid testing

@CelticCrafter  Have a call into the store manager and am writing a letter to CVS Corp CEO right now. Sorry if you thought was just to complain. I thought someone here might benefit from my experience.

@cozyseeker

Furious? Sounds like you are not a laid back person. Doesn't CVS have walk-in pickup, or are they closed to the public?  Why would they be wearing a mask if they were inside their own car?

I have only been out and about 6 times since March, all to my 2nd home, the hospital. I did not wear a mask in our car or until I got inside the hospital.

Last week I had to wait 90 minutes to get my monthly B-12 shot, usually 30 minutes or

Max. Was I furious? Nah  I'm a laid back kind of guy.

Go for a walk, no need for a mask unless you live on the west coast. Make a nice cup of tea and meditate, that should do it.

I'd call my local health department and report them.  No excuse for that!

That's what I would do. Forget about CVS corporate. I've dealt with them often, they'll just make excuses and cover it up.

I would call your state department of health and human services.

One of the reasons I never use CVS for prescriptions etc. I use the small pharmacy in my small grocery store. No drive thru but in and out in a minute. There is also a local privately owned pharmacy which is the same.

luckily we are able to use our local small pharmacies also......PLUS they deliver with no charge! so much more convenient.

Re: Furious at CVS Covid testing

CVS has a TV ad that says they now have drive through testing. I'm surprised they didn't set up a protocol to keep test samples away from medications ready for pick up.

Re: Furious at CVS Covid testing

I would not have sat in my car for that long...mask up and go inside, unless you are not able to.  There should have been a sign about the testing and a time wait, that was rude of CVS.

as far as wearing as mask....it would never occur to me to wear a mask while in my car at a drive thru.

I am so darned mad right now. Went to CVS drive through RX pickup this morning. Three cars in front of me and it took almost half hour for each car. As the car in front of me got to the window I could hear the pharmacist talking for a long time. I watched the guy in the car get out and show ID through the window and then grab what I thought was an RX bag from the drawer.

A few minutes later it dawned on me these people were taking a Covid test in the drive-through RX pickup line. I was so furious when I got to the window to just pickup my RX. There was no hand sanitizer available to the people testing, nothing, and they were not wearing masks in their cars. After they tested they put the plastic bag in a box right next to the RX pickup drawer. CVS used to test at the other side of their parking lot and it never occurred to me they would do this in the drive-up.

Pharmacist said they do this until 1PM each day and I should plan to come after that for my future RXs.

NO warning sign, no hand sanitizer, nothing. I am so afraid I was exposed today as I could not wear my mask to talk to the Pharmacy through the thick glass.

@cozyseeker   I am totally confused.

First, you waited 90 minutes in line?

Next:  What are you talking about-who is doing the testing????  Is there a pharmacists standing next to these cars?  Why would that driver need to get out of his car, talk to the pharmacist through a window, then put a bag back?

Who isn't sanitizing their hands????  The person who gave you your scripts?

If that driver could speak through the window, so should you.

Plus CVS has a microphone set up-you don't have to yell through a window.
