Just turned my PET calendar to Thursday and saw that heading. Thought I'd share with everyone here.

1. A flea can jump 10,000 times consecutively without a rest.

2. Fleas may remain awake up to 2 years without sleeping.

3. A flea's body is built laterally, thinner than it is high - perfect for traveling through dog hair.

4. An infestation of only 220 fleas (by no means a large population) can consume 5 percent of a small dog's blood volume in a single day.

5. For every flea on your dog, another 100 lurk in the nearby environment !
