I live in Dallas-Ft. Worth. Metro population of 7.8 milliion. Some very nice people, some not so nice, some really evil. Very diverse with cultures from all over the world. My county is 2.9 million people. Have seen many changes. Signs are still along the roadway which read "Drive Friendly" but it's not the norm anymore.

@songbird  The days of seeing men in Dallas wearing Stetsons as daily attire are long gone. I agree they looked good!

LOL that was about 13 years ago.  I was pregnant.  Anyway I was impressed with Dallas.  My first glimps in to Texas....and the heat!  I was there in June.

My first trip to Texas was San Antonio.  Loved it!

Re: Friendly and Polite People

I grew up living in big cities. We retired and moved full time to our summer cottage on a lovely lake in a very rural community up north Michigan. I keep pinching myself every day that I wake up here. No hustle and bustle, no rudeness. People are so very friendly, very giving, nothing like the reality of big city living.

@Jaspersmom

We just got back one of the hundreds of little towns in upstate Pennsylvania. The closest note worthy place is Ricketts Glen State Park. And that is about an hour away.

What a delightful time. We enjoy going there. My husband has gone there for 40+ years. And he looks forward to spending time there as often as possible. It is such an enjoyable time and delightful place to spend time.

Never seems long enough or often enough.
