We are often called upon by God as His means to care for His people.

Lord, I am here to serve You and am ready to do Your work.

Scripture for the day:

persevere, being not hearers who forget but doers who act--they will be

Meditation for the day:

When something happens to upset us and we are discouraged, we can try to

feel that life's difficulties and troubles are not intended to arrest

our progress in the spiritual life, but to test our strength and to

increase our determination to keep going. Whatever it is that must be

met, we can either overcome it or use it. Nothing need daunt us for

long, nor need any difficulty entirely overcome or conquer us. God's

strength is always there, waiting for us to use it. Nothing can be too

great to be overcome, or if not overcome, then used.

Prayer for the day:

I pray that I may know that there can be no failure with God. I pray

that with God's help I may live a more victorious life.

Hello my friends! Wonderful day today full of blessings!! Mass, Adoration, heard Erma is getting lots of therapy and seems not to be in that much pain, and tonight even though we lost, we had a good time playing cards with another couple from our card club here. Sammy doesn't seem to get any better - please pray for him. He's off the steroids now and just on the Glucosome and hope that will be all he needs. He played piano for that couple tonight, but didn't put any power on his sore leg. My poor little dog! Praying for all of you, and thanks for your prayers for us.

You're Not Alone

Remind Me God!

When I am lonely and Perhaps I feel despair,

Let not my ailing heart forget That YOU hear every prayer...

Remind me that no matter what I do or fail to do,

There still is hope for as long as I have FAITH in YOU...

Let not my eyes be blinded by Some folly I commit,

But help me to regret my wrong And make amends for it.

Inspire me to put my fears Upon a hidden shelf,

And in the future try not to Feel sorry for myself.

New Year's Resolution

At the beginning of a new year, it is traditional that we make resolutions. Resolutions are promises concerning things that we will try to accomplish in the year to come. Usually, they have to do with losing weight, trying to stop smoking, working harder in school/work or something such as that. I'd like to share what I believe are resolutions that will help to insure that we will all have a happy and prosperous New Year.

In the New Year, be sure to LIE, CHEAT, DRINK, SWEAR and STEAL more than you did last year.

LIE back and relax just a little more this new year. Let a little more life happen to you without so much worry.

CHEAT failure. Don't be afraid to try something new because you think you may fail. It is through failure that we learn the most valuable lessons.

DRINK from the fountain of knowledge. Many people around you have already been down roads you are about to travel. Learn from mistakes they have made. Take what they have learned and use it.

SWEAR to do your best. All the time, in every situation. That is all anybody will ever ask.

STEAL a little time for yourself. Everyday take a little more time to develop a stronger relationship with- the one and only...YOU.

So, if you lie, cheat, drink, swear and steal just a little more in the next year, you will have a profitable and enjoyable year ahead!

Prayer for Perseverance in Faith

Father, keep us from vain strife of words. Grant to us constant profession of the Truth! Preserve us in a true and undefiled Faith so that we may hold fast to that which we professed when we were baptized in the Name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit - that we may have Thee for our Father, that we may abide in Thy Son and in the fellowship of the Holy Spirit. Through Jesus Christ, Our Lord. Amen.

A Prayer when feeling low

Loving Lord Jesus,

whose hands are underneath our lowest feelings

to support us as we rest in you.

Hold me in this dark place

and sustain my life with your hope.

Let the light of your love warm my heart,

and your Holy Spirit, the comforter,

be with me to lift me up.

Amen.

Now let Me fill you

I fill you with My Love. I fill you with My forgiveness. I fill you with My generosity. I fill you with My gifts. I fill you with My strength.

I touch your eyes. See yourself as you really are—as I see you. See Myself in the people around you. See the needs in the people whom I call you to serve.

I touch your ears. Hear My voice. Hear My expressions of love and gratitude for the person you are and the things you do to please Me. Hear the pleas of the people whom I call you to serve.

I touch your mouth. Speak My words. Hold back all that is unloving, unkind, unholy. Proclaim the kingdom of God in the way that I call you to serve.

I touch your heart. Your stony heart is replaced by My sacred and pure heart. I heal the pain from old and new wounds, and I give you the pain that I feel in My heart, caused by the sins and wounds of others, and through this I call you to love the sinners unconditionally.

I touch your hands. Reach out and heal others with Me. Give to them My embrace. Stroke their shoulders to give them My encouragement, and pat their backs to give them My affirmation.

I touch your feet. Go wherever our Father sends you. I will be with You always. I walk with you. My Spirit guides you, keeping you on the right path. Be assured, you will not make lasting mistakes, you will not stray for long, for I am walking with you. I have everything in My control. Fear nothing, My wonderful, dear, dear friend. Fear nothing, for My love for you is all consuming, and always victorious.
