I've been to several weddings held on Friday nights.

I'm all for it.  Weddings can be very expensive.  If they can save by having it on a Friday, they should go for it.

Nay. Might be cheaper for the couple but it’s really inconvenient to guests. And you know they picked Friday because it’s cheaper. I prefer a Saturday wedding and do what you can afford.

I think it's entirely up to each couple getting married.

Re: Friday Weddings...yea or nay?

My wedding was on a Friday at 7pm.

Left for our honeymoon that Sunday at 7am.

My daughter also had a Friday night wedding.

Left for their honeymoon that Saturday night.

Re: Friday Weddings...yea or nay?

Catholic Churches have Saturday Masses so it makes sense not to allow a wedding after 2pm.

I think an evening wedding is really nice no matter the day; candlelight ceremonies can be beautiful.  Although taking the usual pics outside would pose a problem. lol

Re: Friday Weddings...yea or nay?

i was married on thanksgiving day 48 yrs ago.

reception held at church hall, i found the lady at the place where i worked who did catering on side. She fixed a wonderful fare of food, finger sandwiches and such.

my parents gave me 2 weeks before I was thrown to the curb. As of today, we have been together 50 yrs non stop, married for 48. I think i proved my parents wrong.

Re: Friday Weddings...yea or nay?

I got married on a Friday years ago.  Used to be couples did not live together before marriage so engagements were much shorter. Today weddings are booked literally years in advance, so if you don't want to wait a Friday is much easier to book.
