Can fresh, peeled garlic be frozen? How would you do it?

I just peel the garlic cloves and store them in the fridge in a bottle covered with oil. They keep a long time this way.
I never even tried to freeze garlic, but there are instructions on the web if you want to try it.

I've been doing it for years. I separate the cloves, peel them and put them in a zip lock bag or Lock & Lock to freeze. I let them defrost about 30 minutes before I use them.

Thank you @Carmie. I asked because our BJS has a 1 lb. pkg. Whenever I but the fresh bulbs they never last. I definitely will try your method. Thanks, again.

Do NOT store your garlic in olive oil in the fridge. You run the risk of botulism.
Do not store your garlic in olive oil on your counter, either. Same risk.
To freeze those freshly peeled garlic cloves, just place in a zip lock bag.
I don't freeze garlic but if I did I would use a glass container, just preference over plastic.
Frozen garlic will lose some its hardness but the flavor will be ok.
Use a microplane grater as a good way to shred frozen garlic.
You can freeze up to a year so mark your container.

@coffee drinker You can also mince/chop your fresh peeled garlic and put it in a zip lock bag. All you have to do is break off a piece when needed.

@coffee drinker Please be sure to read what was said about botulism by @Cakers3 she is absolutely correct.
I just store mine in a garlic keeper jar. Keep them away from heat and moisture. You can freeze the peeled cloves. Just be sure they are packed airtight.

@Cakers3 Garlic in oil stored in the refrigerator is safe. You cannot store it in oil at room temp.

@Carmie No it is not safe even in the fridge.
There is a scientific reason for this; if you have not experienced a bad reaction consider yourself lucky. Very lucky.
Other posters are agreeing with me. I didn't pull that fact out of thin air.
