Someone knocked at our door. Said he was from the local fundamentalist church down the street. They were offering free food. I asked him what kind of food. He said just about everything, mostly fresh veggies. We have plenty of food, so I didn't go. I told him to ask my neighbor who might need it. She doesn't work and has 5 children. I looked down the street and saw a big yellow truck. With people milling around it. (they had on masks) The church is a Protestant Latino church. Most of the parishioners are immigrants from central America that were converts. They purchased the vacant church several years ago. But this is the first time they were actively in the neighborhood. Most of the time they keep to themselves and just use the church.

So good to know that Samaritans are still around us!

I've heard of many, many locations where those in need can drive through and get food. And I've heard of groups that will deliver food to those in need if you contact them. But I haven't heard of any organization going door by door offering food to everyone.
