Re: Free Shipping

[ Edited ]

no need to be so snarky. Is this that serious for you? Someone commenting on how THEY feel?

Of course they will get a long fine without me. I shop where I feel like shopping and how I feel like shopping. But thanks for your recomendation. It's under advisement.

FYI, I have a business degree...actually two. I understand VERY well how businesses run. My view was from a customer service POV. Big difference.

Wouldn't it be great if QVC announced Free Shipping on the 18th two  weeks from now so please don't shop before that time.

That would certainly be the downfall of QVC.

@CTinRI

so will QVC and HSN if you call or email them and let them know the price of your item went down, but that doesnt include free shipping.

Re: Free Shipping-Thanks for Your Comments

I had a few things on my wish list and waited for this weekend thinking they would offer free shipping. I ordered two clothing items. On one of them, it was the last one in my size and color because I then saw it was sold out. You never know how many they have in stock, so it is a bit of a gamble to wait. $3.50 is not enough to worry about in my opinion, but it does add up over time.

@CTinRI

I'm sorry you were subjected to such rude, snarky and nasty comments.  There is no reason to respond to anyone like some posters responded to you.

No need to be rude when disagreeing with another poster.  Some of the responders rarely have anything positive to say so ignore them.

Most posters are very nice people, kind and considerate and they make the boards worth hanging out on.

Check your prices.  Everything on my wish list is $5-$7 higher with free shipping.

Re: Free Shipping-Thanks for Your Comments

Nothing on my wish list has gone up in price, so the free shipping is just that.

In fact, one person who started another thread about this, complaining that some lamps she wanted had increased in price from a year ago (! - no surprise there).

However, when she looked again today, she found that they had dropped in price by nearly $60 - and had free shipping!  A substantial saving on a pair of table lamps.

It's a myth that QVC increases the price on everything when they offer free shipping.  But some people like to believe that.

Re: Free Shipping-Thanks for Your Comments

@CTinRI - You say you have two business degrees.

I certainly wouldn't expect any business to refund shipping for something I ordered prior to the offer, nor would I consider it to be "shady practice".  What business would refund the shipping charges, in such an event?

But you are correct:  if you feel duped by this, the lesson is to never order until there is a free shipping offer in place.

For myself, no, I do not feel duped.  When I order something, I consider the entire price (shipping included).  If I'm happy with that and want the item, I order.  My choice.

Re: Free Shipping-Thanks for Your Comments

I keep seeing posts about customers that bought an item before free shipping and expected to get a refund. Honestly, I don't understand that thinking. I can see a price adjustment for an item that has decreased in price but not s&h.

I wouldn't say I feel duped, but annoyed?  Yes.
