Free Shipping - I'm.On To QVC's Ploy

So about a week ago, if that, after reading a recomendation here in the forums about a waterproof jacket A374732-- I put it in my cart Save For Later to order it on a free S&H day because shipping was $5.50.  The price was $46-something which I took note of because it was less than the previous  Big Deal price of $49-something in the video of it.

So I decided to buy it today on free S&H day, only to discover the price is $ 52-something.  So QVC raised the price of it about $6 from just a few days ago to offer free S&H.  👎

@Pearlee One way or another we always pay for shipping.  No matter what they say.  The amount of money it costs us to buy something is what we pay.  Total.  All.

Doesn't matter if they ship it to you FREE and you pay $50 or if they sell it to you for $2 and you pay $48 for shipping.  You pay $50 either way.

If you think you get shipping for free, you never do. It's about what's it worth to you to have it. . .

While shopping in a store with coupons one day, a sales clerk pointed out that there would be different sale next week but coupons would not be accepted.  She said you pay close to the same price, they just use different methods to get your business.

The items that I had been waiting for free shipping for ($5.50 each) did not go up in price, so I saved $16.50 in free shipping.

I'll take it.....

@Pearlee  If you do Rakuten, (formerly Ebates), it's 10% for QVC today, so it will offset the increase in price.

I was able to purchase some Isaac items today, and didn't notice a price increase.

If the price goes down in 30 days from your purchase, you can always get a price adjustment, so what I do it after ordering the item, I add them to my wish list so I can check quickly if the price has been reduced.  The CS reps are always able to give me the lower price (either through a credit to my CC, or with a credit on my account).  The item has to have shipped, but it's a way to get the best price, even on a free shipping day.

proves that old saw- there’s no such thing as a free lunch

find me a business that sells free and I can most likely find costs covering that sell -  just depends on who pays the costs, but someone is.  Owners that cannot cover their costs don’t stay in business long

@Pearlee   as for the price - I see very little difference between several weeks ago and today, but it does seem that coat for you is worth less than its cost either day.

@Mary Bailey  Glad your item was the same price. I did notice Rakuten is 10% (it usually is on a free S&H day) and I ordered the jacket so that did mae me feel like I was saving a little money on it.
