$8,000???? YIKES! WAY too much for that!
I had my Revocable Trust set up in 1999, when my dh died, along with my Will, Medical Committee, and other documents.
I am the Trustee of my Trust, with my oldest son as the Trustee upon my demise.

The reason we went to a Living Trust is to avoid probate after our deaths. Probate can take a very long time and cost the heirs a huge amount of money.
I would suggest that you contact another attorney, however. The only reason for this procedure to cost $8000 would be if you were worth many, many millions of dollars and had all kinds of assets in all kinds of different accounts. If that does describe your situation - congratulations!
We had a rather expensive attorney do our work for us - he was recommended by one of our attorney children. We have a sizable estate. He did our Living Trust, Power of Attorneys, Medical Power of Attorney, and we even had one of the paralegals put our home in the living trust by going to the court house herself, etc. The total cost was around $2400 and was done within the past year. There were hourly fees for the attorney and various other costs. For $8000 I would want a very detailed explanation of why in the world it should cost so much.
