I wonder what kickbacks the CDC is secretly giving these companies for them to offer these "freebies." We'll never know about them but it's pretty obvious the CDC is doing this for vaccinated individuals. This reminds me of the same during the flu season. CVS and other stores are always giving a deal like $10 off to anyone who gets the flu shot. Why? Do we really need to bribe people to fulfill quotas? Apparently so.

@JenJenMO1971 Wow, that's the most cynical thing I've read in a while. I don't believe the CDC is connected in any way to the Freebies. I do think the businesses offering Freebies are hoping you'll buy something else as long as you are at the establishment and the offering brings it free publicity and good will.

There is nothing obvious about your conspiracy, @JenJenMO1971

Can't see where these cheap freebies (companies will probably get write offs for giving them also) could change anyone's mind! Heck, employees who were offered incentives as high as $500 passed on vaccines! Many, like me, will get vaccinated after more is known after seeing if there are lasting side effects that may not show now (since quickly put out and approved on emergency basis only) and could affect many for the rest of their lives! Also, many like me want a choice of which vaccine to get due to my research. The others are anti vaxers and those who still think Covid is not really a threat dispite all the deaths! More emphasis should be placed on getting treatments that work available to anyone testing postive with symptoms!!

Anyone who thinks a federal agency such as CDC hands out "kickbacks" to private companies certainly doesn't know very much about how their government operates.
And pharmacies or other places that offer a discount for people receiving a flu vaccine shot annually are doing that because Medicare or private insurance companies reimburse for those shots as part of the patient's benefits. No rocket science needed to understand that.
I get a $10 gift card for use at the local grocery store if I use that store's pharmacy to get the annual flu shot. They're probably not making more money off of giving those shots than a doctor's office would if the shot was given there and the doctor was reimbursed.
In case you did not know, the federal government is making the covid vaccines available free to everyone, and wants everyone to get them in the interests of public health. We the taxpayers are footing the bill in the end, as usual.
Meanwhile, companies want their employees to get vaccinated so the busineses can keep the doors open while assuring proper workplace safety and preventing employee absenteeism due to illness.

I had my first vaccination in January and the second in February. Haven't taken advantage of a freebie yet, but I have no problem with this if the right one comes along. Instead of looking at these freebies as bribes and dumbing down consider them as a reward. The pressing concern here is to get as many people vaccinated as soon as possible so that we can stop the circulation of the virus. Treatments yes but prevention is better.

@novamc1 Don't know why you specifically mentioned me in your post!! I never mentioned kickbacks by CDC but... A business can use freebies/discounts offered at their business as a business expense and also a way of getting customers to spend more money once there otherwise few would do it! My point was that if those opposed to getting the vaccine for whatever reasons did not take advantage of a money offer by employers then a free dessert or anything else will not make me or anyone change their minds!

I view free products as way for business to promote thier products. People talk about it as we are doing now and some will go in for the freebie and maybe purchase something or like the product and go back and purchase. Free can give a favorable opinion of the business to potential customers.

There isn't one freebie I've seen that would entice me to get vaccinated.
BTW, I've had both Pfizer doses.
