OMG @Northray  I saw one in my garage last night I swear could pass for a jetliner...I was freakin' out.  (I haven't seen one in a year).

I have a exterminator twice a month...I hate florida for the bugs!!!  Makes me laugh when they say "oh its just a water or palmetto bug"...

If I ever had one in my bed -- I'd NEVER be able to sleep in it again!  I'd have nightmares...when I watch those shows with Hoarders I have to change the channel because of those roaches & more...

Watched Hoarders once and I literally started decluttering hard, lol.  Just tossing stuff, my mom was like, what are you doing?  I was like, getting rid of stuff Ma, we got too much stuff.  Course my mom wants to keep everything, because you never know when you’ll need coconuts from the Zulu parades.

Yesterday I was clever, so I wanted to change the world. Today I am wise, so I am changing myself.

Yep. I put anything like this in "quarantine" in my garage for at least a season before it comes into the house.

Pest Control guy at work told me roaches can be transported in any ordinary corrugated cardboard box.

It's the glue used to make the currugation. Roaches love it!

They crawl inside to munch the glue and camp out. Next thing you know they're on a UPS truck.

Did you know lizards eat roaches and other creepies?

Re: Freaking the heck out...

I totally understand.  I am absolutely terrified of roaches!

Not afraid of snakes, spiders, rats, or mice.

But, roaches absolutely send me into orbit!

Lately I have been having a issue with "gnats" and "fruit flies" and honestly, I don't buy fruit.

I bought a lettuce head from Publix -- cut it open and the entire inside was rotten with little black bugs inside...

I've also bought Ronzoni  pasta from there open box and yup ... black bugs!

I'm starting to hate that store!!!  Not only for the prices but for the extra bugs they are sending home with me!!!

@homedecor1 this sounds like something out of a horror movie.  It is time to shop around or become a Farmer.  You are a brave woman having to wrestle all that out of your home.

No I did not know that @Drythe.  Knock on wood after fourteen years in my home only have seen one what we here in Texas refer to water bugs in my bathtub one morning.  Talk about screaming bloody murder.  I could have put a rope on that thing and rode him hard.  Got him though.  Our Pine Trees here in East Texas are a breeding ground for water bugs kissing cousins of roaches.  If I do see another I may need to go to the pet store or search the yard.Heart

@bonnielu   Snakes in the house   ???   Oh my , how do you deal?   I am so horrified of snakes.  They are really bad outdoors this year , we have seen so many.   I always fear what if one got into the house!   We are also near woods.

I once stepped on a snake wearing a pair of house slippers. As soon as I did, I knew what I had done and for the life of me , I could not make myself look down.    I mustered up all my energy and took a flying leap ( what a sight that must have been!)   He curled and raised to bite and I ran like the wind to my door!

I felt something on the front of my ankle sitting in my chair in the living room and looked down and it was a scorpion almost under the hem of my jeans headed up.  Thank goodness I was not wearing socks with my loafers or I would have not felt it until way up into my jeans.  I kicked out my leg and screamed NOOOOO and it went flying.  My son was 8 at the time (turns 35 tomorrow) and still remembers that scream and jump.  He was on the floor right next to me watching t.v. with a blanket on him, thank goodness it did not crawl in with him.  We had to have that house sprayed every month the scorpions were so bad. Two years was all I could stand living there, the pool and space was not worth the fear @fourpaws56  Yet I would choose scorpions over roaches since there were never as many as you can get with a roach infestation.  I guess the worst discovery was finding a skunk had took up residence in one of the cabinets in the garage.  Exterminator caught him and drove him alive far far far away.   You should have seen both of us turn and run out of the garage when he opened the right cabinet door.  I had noticed the smell so we were just checking to see if one may have been around.  He was asleep!
