Re: Forum Issue Troubleshooting/Brainstorming

no issues for me on a HP laptop with windows 10 using the EDGE browswer. this is my preferred way to use the forums.

i did try to access on my samsung note 10 phone, and it doesnt work well at all, but i prefer not to use my phone to access the forums.

i also tried using the FIREFOX browser on the same laptop and it is messy for sure.....i can get in, but it takes a lot of scrolling. no issues with the shopping side of the website.

Re: Forum Issue Troubleshooting/Brainstorming

There is no rhyme or reason why this is happening.  It's not geographic.  It's not based on what browser you use.  Whether you use a phone, tablet, laptop or desktop.  The common denominator here is QVC and it's on them.

The not knowing is what makes this worse.  Says a great deal about a company that doesn't even care to tell it's core shopping base what's going on with their website.

I'm using Chrome on an Android tablet and hadn't had any trouble until last night.  I signed on and suddenly the dreaded garbage appeared.  I played with it for awhile and never could get to the forums.  Left to go do something and when I returned I signed on in my usual fashion and everything was fine.  Haven't heard of this happening to anyone else.

Whatever the problem is, I hope it gets fixed soon. I love this forum and miss the ease of using it.

Ok Ok Maybe this is grasping but wasn't it last July 2021 when so many were not able to sign in? went on for quite awhile and we had to change nics or start our accts over ad nauseum

NOT talking about last Sept/October when we all were warned ahead of time the forums would go belly-up

Re: Forum Issue Troubleshooting/Brainstorming

@Pook    So many problems, so many theories!  I have been fighting against EDGE on the old laptop I am using right now.   Ironically, the QVC website and the QVC Foums have given me no grief.

I've also had a compatability issue with Safai and my email on my iPhone.  My email won't update sometimes and the only way to achieve an update is to go to settings, eliminate my email, then re-install it. I've done that maybe 3 times since a Verizon rep walked me through the problem the first time it happened.

Yes. That's when I predicted in July 2022 I would be PickyPicky352. Didn't happen.

Re: Forum Issue Troubleshooting/Brainstorming

I wasn't saying that the problem doesn't lie with QVC, I was just trying to see a pattern. I know many of you are very tech savvy and I'm not trying to insult anyone as I'm not all that savvy, techwise.

I'm a poor communicator, but my point was that the 2 devices I use (Windows 10 on Edge, iPad on Edge) to read the forum I haven't had any issues. (I usually don't clear cache/history).

However, these same devices using Chrome and Safari, I have the issue with the forum. I do not use Chrome nor Safari.

The iPhone has issues on all 3 browsers. I've never access QVC on my phone.

Hence, maybe it has to do with not clearing cache?

@Runner26

Some of us have speculated on that.  That's when the forum went wonky for me and some others.

This forum has always had acted differently for different people.  Some people have to continually keep logging in during the day, other people can't log out even when they try--for just one example.

It seems to be acting a lot like it did when they were going to shut the forums down completely.  As people got timed out, they couldn't get back in.  Some people were not having problems with this, then they did.

Bottom line is I have no idea.  I suspect it's going to be a tedious and time consuming project to find the exact problem and then come up with a solution that doesn't afffect either the forum or the main shopping site.  I don't expect a solution soon, but I can hope.🤞

Re: Forum Issue Troubleshooting/Brainstorming

For me it's been six days.  I first recognized the problem on July 20th and mentioned it in the Customer Care Forum.  They are still working on it for six days?

Who could know?  For now, I've resigned myself to coming here to post for as long as I can, despite the tedious hoops we have to go through in order to do so.  Some of the functionality (for me) was lost as well at one point, but they appear to come and go.  Notifications, disappeared.  Dropped down menu to @ someone didn't generate options from the list of participants to tag.

I have tried three browsers on my Windows desktop.  Since they all work the same way, I've stuck with the one I generally use to surf the web.
