Fort Myers and the surrounding areas - info anyone?

Do any of you live in that area? What can you tell me about it? Good areas, bad areas.

We are thinking of buying a little place down there. Definitely condo/turnkey type arrangement as it will not be a permanent home.

I would very much appreciate any information or comments. I've been looking at trulia and realtor.com but I don't know what's what.
