Re: For those interested in Amazon Prime...

We joined last year during a one day promo for $67. So far, our orders ship very fast. I placed an order last Saturday, it was delivered on Monday.

Re: For those interested in Amazon Prime...

I find that having Prime entices me to order more often.  Nothing that I don't need, though.  I can't remember the last time it took MORE than the 2 day shipping time that was promised.  Even during Christmas.

I think that I shared on here that I made up dough for Spritz cookies only to realize that my cookie press had a part lost.  I decided to buy an inexpensive one and hoped that it would get here by Christmas Eve....2 days away.  It did and I was able to serve my cookies on Christmas day.

Re: For those interested in Amazon Prime...

@jackthebear my parents have prime and my mom has complaining about this too. She said that many items will say they are PRIME but, say, if she orders on Monday, it will show a delivery date of Thursday. Many Prime items lately are showing 3+ days delivery (BUSINESS days, btw) and she is not happy. What is the point of paying for Prime if they won't be 2 days like promised? And why are they listed as Prime if they aren't a delivery date of 2 days? Anyway, she said she is using it less because of this and using her Shoprunner (free with Amex) instead. Oddly, apparently they opened more distributions centers, including one fairly close to them, so you'd think they'd all be 2 days like they used to.

Re: For those interested in Amazon Prime...

I think they run these promos once a year, FWIW.   I remember back when I decided to re-join, a number of years ago when it was still $79 a year, and then had a promo for $59 for the first year so I re-joined at that rate.  It's always nice to get a break in the price.

While I DO understand how this kind of thing works for NEW customers only, I kind of wish that existing, good standing, customers could also get the break.   But I'm ok with it.   Business is business.  Smiley Happy

Re: For those interested in Amazon Prime...

I've continued to have, probably 99 items out of 100, 2 day with Prime lately.  I wonder if she is ordering too late in the day for it to get there within 2 days (?).

BTW, if Prime orders don't come in the time frame given they will compensate you.   If something happens that is outside of their control (like it shipped on time but there was a weather issue or some generic UPS issue) I never contact them or complain.  But if the delay is on their end I've contacted them a couple of times over the years and they would add on another month to my Prime or give me a credit.  I tend to not complain that much, though.  Smiley Happy

Yeah, I am not talking about items that are delayed, I am talking about when you go to place an order, Amazon shows you the delivery date. When it is a Saturday and the date shows your Prime item should arrive on Thursday of the following, that is more than 2 days shipping. That is 4 business days. She isn't bothered by the ones that are suppose to arrive in 2 days and there are delays due to weather, etc, basically shipping issues out of their control. I don't think anyone gets upset about that. Why would they even be listed as PRIME items if they already know the ETA will be more than the Prime of 2 days? Just find that odd. She has shown me several items like this. She asked Amazon about it and all they said was that if she wants it faster, she can pay for overnight or faster shipping . What??? Isn't she already paying $99/yr for supposed 2 day shipping? And since it sounds like they CAN get it there faster, why aren't they as per their agreement with Prime members? All rhetorical questions for you but it is those questions that Amazon can't seem to answer.

@jackthebear did you mean to write something? You just quoted my post but didn't say anything or it got deleted. Smiley Happy

Re: For those interested in Amazon Prime...

I read all of the posts and maybe I missed it, I saw the promo for $73 to join Prime but the promo is for first time members only.
