I asked my DH to pick up a head of cauliflower the other day. The puny thing he came home with was laughable.  Then he told me he paid $5.00 for it and I just shook my head.

@JeanLouiseFinch - on Morning Joe this morning, Stephanie Ruhle mentioned that she paid $8 for cauliflower over the weekend.

Why is it, when I have a 50/50 guess at something, I'm always 100% wrong?

The first store he went to, it was $7.99.  The $5.00 one was at the second store.

I don't like cauliflower enough to ever pay $7.99 a head for it!

Not Me!

I went to Costco - no pears
                             no celery
                             no fresh broccoli
eggs limited to 2 packages, no matter the size and not many
containers left in any size. There were about 6 people looking.

I went to Sam's - no Philadelphia cream cheese in 1 pound tubs (tried 3 Sam's)
bought one of the last packages of Perdue thin sliced chicken br--st

Both stores has empty spots on many of the shelves, especially in the refrigerated and frozen food sections.

My local grocery store has cauliflower $2.49/head this week.  Nowadays that's a bargain.  I bought two!

Re: Food Prices😳😳

I paid around $5 for a dozen large eggs earlier this week.

Our local supermarket offers senior citizens a 10% discount on Tuesdays,  So that's when I do all my shopping now.

I get the majority of my canned goods and most cleaning stuff from Amazon subscribe and save.  There's a 15% discount.
