Fluoride - Do you use toothpaste with Fluoride?

I decided today I am not going to use fluoride in my toothpaste again. My friend that works at the health food store said that fluoride can cause thyroid issues.......I am going to google FLUORIDE.......seems like when I researched fluoride it was not meant for our teeth but for things for war..........anyway I am going to reserach again. I will so appreciate posts regarding this.
