From Daytona, as others have said, I recommend you make a short day trip up to St. Augustine and St. Augustine Beach. I agree with the poster who said to take the tour in St. Augustine.
My favorite Florida place that I don't see mentioned here yet is in Lake Wales: the Bok Tower. It's not far from Daytona, and March is a beautiful time to drive through the surrounding citrus groves. The gardens are gorgeous, and the carillon is delightful and unique. Better yet, it's off the beaten tourist path.
Another little-known spot I've always liked, in north Florida, is Wakulla Springs not far south from the state capitol of Tallahassee. You could easily see both locations in a day. The '50s movie Creature from the Black Lagoon was filmed at Wakulla (pronounced wah-CULL-uh).
If you have the time, I agree with the poster who suggested a trip down to Sarasota to see the Ringling. Breathtaking art and grounds. And, of course, stop at the Dali in St. Petersburg either coming or going. The two would be an overnight trip, one day in each place.
If you're going to take a few days to see south Florida, I suggest South Beach in Miami and in Palm Beach a drive along Ocean Boulevard with a meal at the famous Breakers hotel.
March is a perfect time to travel anywhere in Florida. Just be aware, as one poster, said, that you're still in the tail end of the "snowbird" season usually until Easter, which is in April this year. Enjoy!

I am partial to St. Augustine because I live there. Beautiful beaches, just named in the top 10 in the United States, Anastasia State Park, the Lighthouse. There is a place between St. Augustine and Daytona, in Flagler County called "Princess Place". If you like quite and just exploring nature, Princess Place is beautiful. There are a lot of good Local Restaurants in St. Augustine. Someone mentioned the Columbia but the locals don't go there because it is not that great. It is downtown on St. George St. though. I like the Raintree or Cap's on the Water up on Vilano Beach is very good although not fancy but the food is . St. Augustine is very laid back and casual. I would also take the tour train, Flagler College and the Lightener Museum are worth seeing. We have great history here. There is even a freedom trail to follow that outlines the Civil Rights battle that happened in St. Augustine (if you are interested in history). Martin Luther King spent some time here in the 1960's and St. Augustine was a hotbed for the Civil Rights Movement. I don't love the Orlando area because it is very crowded and brick and mortar. I like nature. There are springs to see I believe there is Blue's Springs between Daytona and Orlando and you can see Manatee's there up close. They come into the warmer water there. The Ponce Inlet is also nice and they have a Sea Turtle Rescue nearby that you can tour and you may see a Sea Turtle. I can still be cool around here in March so I would bring a Fleece jacket, tee shirts, sandals, but shoes and socks too as your feet might get chilly. Cape Canaveral is also worth going to.

I love St. Augustine also. I was only there once, but I would love to go again.

I am a Floridian and really enjoyed a trip to the Kennedy Space Center. You can see the Apollo rockets and the astronaut's memorial. Good trip! They also have an IMAX movie experience.
Blue Springs is also really nice.
