The ones from Abbot have been shown to be unreliable, but they have been giving false negatives, not positives.
I have heard and read several places that the RAPID test, which is convenient, is the highest in false negatives.

And the sun.
That was popular for awhile. The sun kills COVID! Not to worry! Go out in the sun! Put your masks in the Sun!
Thud.
@QueenDanceALot The virus was in warm, sunny countries so that never made sense.

It seems to be harder to catch it when you're outside. But I think the wide open airflow outside should get the credit, not the sun. I think people heard about UV disinfection techniques and extrapolated a bunch of hopeful thinking onto the UV rays from the sun.

Agree with you. There are far to many who think this is just the maybe you will get it, maybe not yearly virus. I am more than angry at those who are just plain acting recklessly with their own life and others as well.
I just had two people I know very well who said to me again that this is just not "a big deal" and my reply was until one of your family members get it or worse.
Plus, I know someone who is flying in from AZ to visit here in WA state. I want to say stay home and stay inside. So upset.....
To all of you please take care of yourselves......

Stay safe and be well, Florida residents.

@Zhills - It seems to me the only time they are sorry is after the fact. When they come down with the virus and then say they shouldn't have gone out.

Finally, some of the areas near me passed a Mask Mandate today. It's about time. Sad part is this should have been done when they reopened the state in May.
From the crowds this past week, crowds next week followed by Harley week we are probably going to have numbers spiking.
We aren't as bad as other states (thankfully), but our numbers were very low until the middle of May.
Tomorrow will be early errands then home for the rest of the week.
