As most of you probably know, there has been non-stop rain in most of Florida for the last month. A day hasn't gone by where there was no rain. Some areas are waist-deep in rain water. Cars are under water, etc.

Yesterday at 1 pm, our power went out. My husband went out and looked at the electric power pole and said "somewhere there's a dead bird on the ground". The birds sometimes fly into the transformer, we hear a loud POP and all power goes out. (Fortunately, we have a Generac whole-house generator and the longest power failure we have ever had was 3 hrs. and that was about 5 years ago)...... FP&L came out and "fixed" the problem but our generator remained on.

My husband said it's probably an equipment problem and it will be an all day problem. FP&L kept calling us with updates, saying it indeed was their equipment and power would be restored by 3, then 4, then 5 and finally 8 pm. The power finally was back on at 8:30.

I think we finally got our money's worth out of the generator. It finally got a good workout. I saw some neighbors leaving to go to other places. After about 2 hours, it gets really hot in the house. The humidity was high too.

All's well that ends well......but our rainy season really doesn't begin until Aug/Sept. Times are achangin'........ {#emotions_dlg.ohmy}
