I just experienced the most beautiful floral fragrance with a slight Touch of rose, as I'm laying in my recliner. I think Mom is close.  It was strong.

Mine is the scent of anise extract.

Reminds me of my mom and I (when I was a child) baking biscotti.  Anise flavored, with anise seed.

I actually smell the scent right this minute.

Also, I have a third of a small bottle of anise extract on my night stand/table.

I sometimes dab a bit on my wrists and behind my ears, under my chin on my neck.

Isn't it something that our minds can recall important childhood scents..........

p.s........Any suggestions re: a light rose scent?

I had a tea rose scent years ago.....it was way too strong.

I'd love to know of a nice, light rose scent.

@ROMARY --  I wonder if you are referencing "Tea Rose" by the Perfumer's Workshop, that you found too strong.  That one is very strong-- can be overpowering to some.

A few others:

"L'Aimant"--- One of the oldest rose scents is "L'Aimant" by Coty.    It's from the era of Chanel #5,  and has been compared to it.  It's extremely affordable--  all the famous old French perfumes by Coty are, including "Emeraude".  I think it was sold to the U.S.,  and somehow, costs have remained very low.

"Ombre Rose".   I think it's by Brossard or Broussard, but I can't remember the exact scent.  I do seem to remember it is soft and powdery.

"Miss Dior" by Dior, I think is known for having a prominent rose note.

"English Rose".  by Yardley of London.   Don't know it, but I would think it would be worth trying.

My mother wore white linen, she has been gone for 24 years but I still like to smell it and remember her.

Hi @ROMARY ,

There are two rose fragrances that are very pretty that come to mind.

One is from Elizabeth Arden's White Tea line of fragrances and is called White Tea Wild Rose.

It is a beautiful rose eau de toilette. It is on the light side in terms of scent, but also because it's an EDT so it's not as strong as a perfume.

It's one of my favorite fragrances.

It can be found on the Elizabeth Arden website, and sometimes on HSN, which is where I bought it.

I also like Marilyn Miglin's Divine fragrance, which is a mixture of different roses.

Some find that her fragrances may be a bit too strong for them, but I like her fragrances, generally.

You can tend to find Divine on Marilyn's own website, if you're interested in trying it. Her fragrances sell out pretty fast whenever they're listed on HSN.
