What is it about QVC shoppers that they're so likely to buy flashlights?   It's almost funny this time of year to see how many flashlight sets QVC sells, so QVCers must also love to give them as gifts -- stock up the gift closet and have one on hand for late night pumpkin patch visiting.

I do see the utility of a flashlight, but it just seems like QVC has this category over represented.

It seems crazy, doesn't it, but it must work.  They've been doing this for as far back as I can remember.

I cannot think of a time that I wished somebody would gift me with a flashlight.  Does that make me weird?  hehe  Smiley Wink

This time of year I make sure my flashlights are in working order and that the batteries are fresh.  I remember a big snowstorm a couple of years ago when the power went out for several hours and the roads were too bad to go to the store to purchase anything.

I was wishing someone would have gifted me with a good flashlight during that storm.

I think generators are a better idea for a TSV, they'd sell like hot cakes for East Coasters.

Ha!  Good one.  Now that would be a seriously helpful gift!  Smiley Happy  Plus, you know how it goes - you could always buy a few extras for the 'gift closet'.

I do think that's an EXCELLENT idea.  And I live in Atlanta.

I have loved getting and giving those flashlights, the 3 with the magnet and extending arm? Is inexpensive, thoughtful, handy and I have already gifted them to my 2 garbage men, mailman who comes a mile up my dirt road to deliver my mail, and to a mechanic. A bore maybe for some but for others who like me are termionally ill and disabled and dont have alot to spend is the thought that counts. I have never had anyone be dissapointed in getting such a flashlight. Living rural these flashlights have been life savers for many who have thanked me profusely. reminds me the pink ones for the gals should be here soon.

I am so sorry to hear you are so ill and disabled.   That must be so hard for you and especially at this time of the year.  I'm glad the flashlights have been so useful for you and yours.

Re: Flashlights, AGAIN?

[ Edited ]

Aww thanks...I do worry about the mixed reviews of the flashlights. LOL. So far I have received good batches but thank goodness for holiday returns LOL. I did find something very useful for the elderly and disabled like myself which only costs about 20 something. On HSN they have the car cane. Has the flashlight, car cane, seat belt cutter and window breaker? I thought they were corny until I ordered a few and kept one for myself. They work and now I can get out of the car without much help. Others I gifted to have been raving about them and have asked where I purchased them.Have you seen them? They come in fancy colors too!

  • Yes!  I have bought them twice, one set given to neices and nephews for backpacks. They love and use them. Same for a circle of friends for the 2nd order. They also love them. I was caught in an elevator in a foreign city and had one hooked to the outside of my purse. The lights had gone out and it truly saved me!!
  • I probably would have remembered my phone but also used it on the flight over to locate the electric plug under my plane seat (after the lights were dimmed) to charge my phone. Great to look for a dropped item in a dark restaurant or theater.
  • Great for one in a closet - works great to see if navy or black.
