Flash Flood Advisories

We are experiencing frequent flash floods from the burn scars. Our phones receive the information accompanied by a loud alarm sound. Until the mayor mentioned it in his briefing, I did not realize there are two levels. One is a warning. The other is an emergency. We have had emergency warnings with our burn scar flooding.

Stay alert if you have flash flooding. It is a wall of water moving rapidly downstream. It has tremendous force. It is quite different from the flooding that is like a bathtub filling.  They are two different beasts but both types of flooding are devastating.

Thanks for posting this; we have friends who have property in Ruidoso but are not there most of the time; I hope they are aware.
