Grading and Acquiring a Report don't mean the same thing. Grading like for Museum Grade "Gem Grade; Triple AAA Grade quality stones, etc., are different than a report.
knowing the origin of the stone, if the stone has treatments and if so, what kind, etc., have nothing to do with grading a stone.
They are two separate things.

I've taken these quotes straight from their website. So as not to get hung up on the word "grade," for a fee, the GIA will issue a "detailed description of the gemstone such as cutting style, shape, weight, measurement, and color, and includes a photograph of the gemstone." A Colored Stone Identification report from them also, "Identifies and describes a material and lists detectable treatments. For any polished, rough, loose or mounted material."
