I came back to read more replies, and they made me remember a story:

 

I walked into my vet's office and there was a 30-something guy at the checkout desk cradling a tiny, very scruffy-looking calico kitten in his arms. When he left, the receptionist told me that he was playing golf, and found this kitten crying under a bush. She was filthy, absolutely COVERED in fleas, and very skinny. The guy stopped his golf game to pick her up and rush her to the vet! He told them that she would have a home with him. So many would have just walked past that poor little kitten.

 

 

Love rescue stories! All 3 of my current kitties, plus my last 2 cats and 1 dog have been rescues.
