This photo was taken in Southern New Mexico. It is a skier's delight to be the first one through fresh powder.

@On It So pristine, so quiet, so gorgeous to be that first run! I also love the last run of the day! No rush to get to the bottom of the mountain to grab another lift all while enjoying the last sounds of the day on the slopes. Skiing near a church on a Sunday morning with their churchbells ringing and a rising, shining sun is a hands down fave of mine as well! Thanks for the beautiful picture!Heart

That's beautiful but I had no idea southern NM was snowy and had evergreens(?) like that.

@monicakm Southern New Mexico is a contrast in terrain. It has desert and mountains within a short drive from each other. The photo above was taken in the Sacramento Mountains. The famous White Sands are within an hour's drive. This photo below shows the white gypsum sand dunes in the foreground of part of the Sacramento Mountains.

I kind of get that feeling after a big snowstorm has dumped several inches of snow around here---and I am the first one to trudge thru it. That doesn't happen often here in the PNW -- but a few times we've had a solid 12 " of snow---usually I would go thru my yard as it was 2 1/2 acres --but then I wasn't the first--saw lots of little critter foot prints. Was a peaceful, quiet feeling.
