Re: First New Marquee on Broadway

I have a theater weekend package that was originaly scheduled for this month to see The Music Man. Then it got rescheduled to October of this year, and then rescheduled to October of 2022 and I am hopeful that date will stick! I will see The Music Man on Thursday night and then get to see another show on Friday night and another one on Saturday nught. My other shows will depend on what is playing. I cannot wait and just hope that the restaurants and hotels will be able to hang on until they can all reopen safely.

Re: First New Marquee on Broadway

Our theatre here in Cleveland announced they are planning on re-opening in the fall.  When I checked the schedule, the first performance that isn't streaming and doesn't show postponed or canceled is slated for mid-September. My fingers are crossed.  I really miss the theatre.

Re: First New Marquee on Broadway

In an interview which aired today the President of the Broadway League indicated that September is the likely date for some Broadway shows to resume.  She said long runners like Lion King, Wicked and Phantom might be first.

Masks will be required and perhaps proof of vaccination, although that's uncertain.

However, social distancing will not be possible.   Capacity of 75% is necessary in most Broadway houses to be profitable.
