The air is thick with smoke from fires that are about 70 miles away to the south-east.

The tiny town of Fort Seward is under an Evacuation Warning, and are being told to be ready to leave at a moment's notice.

Fort Seward is over by Garberville, Phillipsville, Miranda, Alderpoint, Meyers Flat.

All small towns that dot the 101 highway here in Northern California.

Today was unusually hot (for us) where it got up to 87 with unusually low humidity of about 30%.

87° ties a record that was set in 1947, which should tell you that it's unusual for us to get hot.

This is the August Complex fire.

We are under a red flag warning until 9 pm tonight.

Please keep the people who are being affected by these fires, the animals, both wild and domesticated, in your thoughts and prayers.

Re: Fires in Humboldt County

And the Sonoma/Napa County fires have caused at least 55,000 to evacuate.

@Anonymous032819

I know the area well because I went to college behind the Redwood Curtain.  Made that trip on 101 from Arcata to the Bay Area (and back) many times.

Just horrible to watch this destruction.

Disheartening to be certain.  A beautiful and sacred area.

I've heard seer acatual mediums (who are the real deal and not the wannabees) say it is a domestic terror group doing the fire starting.  I agree.  They must be stopped.

Re: Fires in Humboldt County

You are in my prayers, @Anonymous032819. Everyone there is in my thoughts and prayers. I also hate to think of the animals that have been and will be lost due to these horrible fires.

The pictures I see are hard to even fathom, I can't imagine living thru it.
