Re: Fire at QVC’s NC distribution center

@Pearlee  Good question.  I have two returns I just mailed.  I'll have to keep an eye on these.  I'm glad I asked for a receipt at the PO.

OMGosh that is terrible.  I'm so happy that no one was hurt.

I wonder how much inventory was lost to the fire.

Just thankful no one was hurt...packages / items can be replaced

Sadly, this is definitely not good for QVC customers or QVC for that matter☹️

Returns go there. I wonder what'll happen to our returns?

A company the size of QVC will have a disaster recovery plan in place.

I'd have thought a warehouse that size would have systems to suppress a fire before it got so large.  Smiley Sad

The loss of jobs will hurt this community, which is not huge.

Re: Fire at QVC’s NC distribution center

The distribution center opened in the early 2000s. It's approximately 1.5 million square feet and roughly the size of 30 football fields.

A QVC spokesperson responded to the fire with a statement on Saturday morning.

"There was a fire at our QVC Rocky Mount location in North Carolina on Saturday, December 18. At this time, we are focused on the safety and well-being of our team members. In addition, we are also working to understand the full impact to products and orders and will provide further details to our customers as soon as they are available. We are working with the local authorities to investigate the source of this issue and will provide another update when appropriate."

[ Edited ]

How horrible for all affected by the fire.

Hoping the impact is not great, but that is unknown at this time, of course.

Grateful there were no injuries.

[I am trying to recall which items often ship from that distribution center.  Do they have a lot of Linea jewelry?  Some Dooney & Bourke?  It seems to me that I've seen that center as an originating point often.]

[#2:  Out of curiosity, I checked the tracking for my most recent orders, and the following began their journey to me from the Rocky Mount facility:  the most recent Le Creuset special value, the 3.5 qt round dutch oven; a Valerie Parr Hill Easter deco that was a Lunchtime Special; and the Linea Whisper Knit Polo sweater.  The tracking info was no longer available for items delivered prior to 10/18/21.]
