After several weeks the Mexican government has issued an arrest warrant for a "friend" of the victim. The young lady from Charlotte, NC was found dead the day after her arrival for a vacation. The parents of the murdered victim were initially told that she died of alcohol poisoning but she died from a broken neck and back. Shanquella was attacked by one of the group who went on the vacation with her. To make this even more disgusting some in the group recorded the altercation and taunted the victim to fight back. 

The FBI have also been involved in this case.

@JaneMarple That is truly sickening and disgusting. I'm just waiting for those who ascribe all of this cruelty to "mental illness" to start up.

The truth is, some people are just evil and do evil things. I wish the worst punishment for the killer and I wish unpleasantness for those cruel and nasty people who recorded it.

Mexico is a dangerous place; I used to go there frequently on vacations. Never worried about safety. Know two people who were there on business; kidnapped and held for ransom until their employers paid. I amd serious.

@Trailrun23   Yes, don't drink the water.  I remember when the worst problem was Montezuma's Revenge.  Now that's the least of the problems.

The victim was murdered by an American who she traveled with.

The group immediately left to go back to the states and left her lying on the floor to die. I hope they all get sent to Mexico and imprisoned for the rest of their lives. 

What is so sad is that none in the group said a word about her death!

In other words, she died at their hands, and then they get on a plane and go home .....  and, what?  ..... just carry on with every day life, pretending nothing happened in Mexico?

She thought they were her friends but they were not!

Unbelievable that this even happened. This poor woman was on vacation and was beaten to death by so called friends, and one of them videotaped it? Absolutely sickening and just shows the evil within some people. May this poor woman Rest In Peace. Condolences to her family and friends.

@JaneMarple   What really bothers me is that the first call for medical assistance at the villa ended up with them agreeing when her "friends" declined to have Shanquella taken to a medical facility.  Why did the medical assistance not move her anyway?  Her "friends' certainly didn't have the authority to decline her being taken.

What a horrible story.  So many twisted lies.

Also why were they not detained but just allowed to go home??
