It's funny how many middle aged women are using this book for their book clubs.

Maybe they'd have more fun if they discussed it with their spouses?

Ummm, this series of books are absolutely nothing like any Harlequinn romance I've heard about. Similar seksual content? How far into this are you?

I just finished the third one. I'm not sure why I wasted my time either but after I finished the first I figured what the heck. The third book IMO is really the best out of them. The love story develops much more and the ending pages of the book explain a few things more clearly about Christian.

I found the books to be poorly written, the same phrases used over and over again and the typos and grammatical errors in the book drove me insane sometimes.

Are you serious?! That's a hoot. My book club was seriously considering putting ""War and Peace"" on the docket...though they are the New Yorker/NPR group. Wonder how that book club discusses 50? Not much to talk about...

I got it at Costco, but I never finished it. I found it boring and poorly written with no redeeming character traits in either Anastasia or Christian. In fact, he was no more than a kinky stalker, and she, who was supposed to be educated and evolved was putty in his hands. I won't be attending the movie.

I read the first book a couple of months ago - only finished it out of stubbornness. I actually despised the blasted thing. I agree with the repeated phrases. I began to loathe the email exchanges and found myself getting angry having to read the drivel. I know it is a work of fiction, but it is FICTION! Lol. <p>

Not for me either. Never understood the hype. I did scroll through a copy a co worker had and it just seemed like another poorly written Harlequin romance only slightly bizarre.
