Field Of Dreams Reds Cubs Game

I'm not sure this is the right forum for this topic, but I feel the Community Chat Forum gets the most looks. Last night was the Field Of Dreams game, not being a Reds or Cubs fan I didn't watch. For fans of the movie there were two great moments you may want to checkout. Ken Griffey Jr. and Ken Griffey Sr. reenacted the father and son catch in the movie walking out of the cornfield. They were joined by Hall of Famers from each team, players, and kids. The other moment made me cry ( that musical score gets to me), a video tribute to Ray Liotta narrated by Kevin Costner, I dare you not to cry.

I love that part of Iowa. I am getting closer and closer to moving there.

Dyersville and Dubuque and Peosta have done a tremendous job investing and building that whole area up and bringing in some great events like this.

Nice to see the Cubs win. They have a big fan base in that area.

@Jordan2    We have a category for sports.  Using the correct category makes it possible for someone to find a particular subject to recheck it or to see if a post has already  been written.

Re: Field Of Dreams Reds Cubs Game

I didn't watch the game but wanted to.  I don't follow professional sports much anymore but growing up I was a die-hard Cincinnati Reds fan during the Big Red Machine era.  Later, I even followed the Cubbies a little.

@Kachina624 I know about the sports forum, like I said I just feel a lot more people stop by here. There are forums I never look at but this one is always the one I check out first.

There is nothing wrong with posting it here.

I love that movie, watched a little bit of the game last night but I had to go to bed early.

Thank you for sharing your post here, and thanks to whoever alerted us that the game would be on.  The entire event was a lovely escape, a bit of a walk back in time with good memories.   In addition to nostalgia, the camaraderie and family theme were so great to see.  I’m a Padres fan but love to watch this special baseball event.  I am happy that it will be an annual tradition, and I will watch happily no matter which teams are playing.

The game, while dull, was done beautifully. Weather could not have been better. Brother & SIL were in attendance; if you watched the game you saw another of my brothers on screen.
