Niles and Frasier Crane. I LOVED those snobby men!

I agree a hundred percent! Niles and Frasier Crane are a total delight.

(Every time they stopped in that little coffee shop, my craving for cappuccino would kick in.)

But I loved Meryl Streep in this role! I watch snippets of this movie almost any time I see it's on tv. Her condescending looks...classic!

Mr Darcy of Pride and Prejudice was ostensibly the epitome of a prideful snob........but after Elizabeth Bennett won his heart (to her surprise) he proved himself to be open, understanding and deep..........when he breathlessly admits to Elizabeth, " I love, I love, I do love you," he's believable and heartbreaking............an ar$e to start with, a mensch in the end........Smiley Wink

Re: Fictional characters who are total snobs

The Crane brothers are definitely my favorite snobs - Niles is hilarious!

I was going to say Lisa, the wife on Green Acres, then I realized she isn't snobby at all even if "New York is where she'd rather be" to paraphrase the song. The husband is more of a snob than she is :-)

So I guess it will have to be Lovey and Thurston Howell III from Gilligan's Island. I love how they traveled with a trunkful of money (not too mention the clothing etc.)
