Thanks for all the updates, qvcaddition. Continuing to send you and kitty positive energy. You're making a difference, and kitty knows that. Hoping for the optimum outcome (trap, and treated by Vet), but all of your efforts are making a difference to this little guy's well being. Hugs to you.

Thank you for trying to help this poor kitty.
I fed a feral cat for months until he didn't come anymore. Made me sad.
Please keep us updated.

Hello qvc addiction, I have read of so many of these same situations in 'PET LOVERS' and most have very good success(es). {You probably will have better ideas if posted there. Many, if not most, have so much knowledge of all animals... but I read alot on cats. I know that IndyBlonde2 had this very same -WHAT TO DO- in November with feral kittens/Momma cat had been killed on highway. She did rent a gentle type trap from 'her from a no kill shelter'/ her area; the same picture that was posted earlier here, (from H'John). Firstly, DO NOT call aniamal control. They dispose of most any {caught wild or one that appears to look as wild/feral}. The eye that you mentioned has probably come from a fight from another cat causing an injury into the tear duct, since you said it has fluid from `that` eye; usually that is mineral fluid and needs medication drops, along with an antibiotic ASAP. I have no idea why these aniamal shelter do not assist better than they used to do, but I have done over 7 days in calling in my county and I get the same 'ol answer. I DO KNOW IT'S AN OVER POPULATION IN THE HIGH 90%. THEIR ANSWER
BRING IT or THEM IN...you have to do the work. My question would be if this little abandoned/feral has FIV? There are several orgaizations that take FIVs in and house them until adoptable. I have the number of only one but can call later (answers phone only in the afternoon -all volunteers- and check with them to find out if there is one in your county. I told IndyBlond2 to call around, even if it's another county for a NO kill shelter. The SPCA will take (brought ins) and do an evaluation, innoculation, cleansing- IF the cat DOES "NOT" have any diseases, and if that [disease] is assessed they keep for 3 days, then euthanize if no one wants to >adopt a FIV cat<. ~~A FIV cat can live a long productive life, BUT always have to be a one cat per family (not to infect any others). You are doing a great job- A WONDERFUL LOVING ACT in trying to help this little cat with no voice. I have much more respect for you than I do the animal organizatios that SHOULD be doing this with tax funds and donations. Please keep us updated. THIS CAN BE DONE. I HAVE DONE THIS MANY TIMES. AND, patience is the word! Memo: you can not take this cat to another county's animal no-kill unless someone who lives there can assist you, so try to stay within your own backyard. This is becoming an epidemic problem, having people leave their pets when moving or just dropping them off for a chance someone else will come to their aide. Many people just do not care-PERIOD! I am hoping that anyone in Pet Lovers can read this soon. Consider Pet Lovers. I would call and not give in to any lame excuses because you'll get more than you can ever realize. Most do not (I suppose) come over to other forums. Again, I will refresh this and say: the gentle trap rented or borrowed will be your best success. MANY no-kill will let you BORROW for 3 days. God bless you in doing such a wonderful usage of your time~ _Naes

I trapped 4 kittens in November. And a Tom cat I wasn't expecting.
Don't put any food out for the cat other than what you put in the farthest end of the trap. In fact, you should skip feeding the cat for one day so its good and hungry.
Drape something over part of the trap so the cat can't see it.
You also need to check the trap every 2 or 3 hours so the cat doesn't stay in it for long and get overstressed.
Good luck!

Indy, I was following your thread in Pets Forum. How are the kittens doing? Are they all socialized now? I know you were planning to keep one (was it Abigail?). How is she doing?
