I don't think her sentence amounts to a slap on the wrist. She has a "scarlet letter" on her foreheard forever, already paid a fine double her crime, and she still owes about 6 months worth of community service.

@cherry Photos of Lori's daughters pop up everywhere. But I have never seen a photo of Felicity's daughter on the news.

I saw one photo. I think she is at Fordham now @Puppy Lips

I have no sympathy for Ms Huffman, however there are more egregious crimes committed daily and people go on their merry way. I'll bet she won't ever try defrauding anyone again, let's hope I'm right.

People with wealth should be treated the same way as anyone else would be IMO.
So what if you have money you should not be able to commit crimes with a slap on the wrist.
The least they could do is make them apologize to the kids that missed out on their spot in these colleges that worked hard for it.
Makes me sick to my stomach literally.
How do you know you would have been treated any differently? First hand experience or just speculation.
been around the block a few times. This is all BS, there's 2 sets of justices in this country, and people are sick of it.

History has proven whomever talks first usually get the best deal. I watched a crime show last night and the young man participated in a crime but because he was the first to confess and then helped prosecutors he received probation but should have gotten 7 years.
At least she actually went to prison because of her crime (even if it was only 11 days)...could have been just paying the money and community service.

The below is what she said to the Judge at her sentencing hearing @Nightowlz
A tearful Huffman addressed Judge Talwani in Boston federal court before she received her sentence.
"I'm sorry to you, judge. I am deeply sorry to the students, parents and colleges impacted by my actions," the Emmy-award winning actress said. "I am sorry to my daughters and my husband. I have betrayed them all.
"My mind keeps returning to the 30-minute drive to the testing center. I kept thinking, 'Turn around,'" she said.
Huffman said her daughter Sophia asked why she didn't believe in her.
"I had no answer," Huffman said. "I can only say I'm so sorry, Sophia. I was frightened, I was stupid, and I was so wrong. I am deeply ashamed of what I have done. I have done more damage than I could ever imagine. I realize now with my mothering that love and truth go hand in hand. I take full responsibility for my actions."
I saw that posted on the forums. IMO people will say what they have to in front of a judge to hopefully not have the book thrown at them if you know what I mean.
Same way they have to act when they go before the board for early parole. They have to say they are sorry & etc. If they don't they don't get out.
@Nightowlz, you first said that she should be forced to apologize. Isn't it better that she did on her own? What exactly could she do in terms of apologizing that would meet with your approval?

Depending on the state, it costs anywhere from 30K - 60K per year to keep someone in prison, and taxpayers pay the cost. I think people who are convicted of non-violent crimes should have to pay a large portion of their estimated worth and do community service.

I bet Lori and her husband are thinking that FH is out already and it's all over with (besides her community service) and are wishing they had done the same thing -- even if they had to do a little more time.
