Re: Fed up with shipping/delivery

[ Edited ]

I have had great success with both QVC and HSN on my recent purchases.

Much better than 2 recent Amazon orders.

Bashing QVC is funny and humorous, particularly when posters say they don't buy from them!

The Anti-Corporatist who applauds Amazon really cracks me up!  Big time.

I made three phone calls to CS about "preparing your order" and they finally shipped it yesterday.  CS can only do so much if you get the right person.

Re: Fed up with shipping/delivery

I think the expectations that we place on retailers with regard to shipping are crazy.

And unfair.

I have had very good luck with shipping this year, keeping my fingers crossed.

@charsha.  I have no complaint whatsoever about qvc shipping.  They are shipping as fast or faster than other online retailers.   I order mostly clothing and everything has shipped in 3 days or less.

It's the transportation services that have slowed to a crawl since Thanksgiving.   They're obviously inundated right now.

I hope people realize many things qvc sells are shipped by vendors over whom the 1 has no control.

Q needs to get its shipping and returns departments out of the 1980s. I doubt they will because it'll cost them money.

  • I doubt they've done any serious upgrades to their shipping and returns systems in the last 20 years.
  • They need adequate staff handling shipping and returns.
  • They need to have products shipped faster when coming directly from a vendor. Vendor shipped is always a lot slower.
  • They need to focus on customer satisfaction, not entertainment. Happy customers buy more than unhappy customers.
  • Slow returns processing means they earn interest etc on our money for a longer period of time.

@CalminHeart, I agree with everything you wrote, especially the fourth point dealing with customer satisfaction over their concept of entertainment.

But I do disagree about products sent by vendors. Luckily it's been my experience that items sent directly by vendors arrive within days. Far faster than typical QVC shipping. Guess it depends on the vendor, but I've had great luck with almost all.

Re: Fed up with shipping/delivery

I sometimes feel as if I live in a Black Hole when it comes to Amazon shipping. Even with Prime I'm lucky to receive an item with four days. It's almost become a ritual to read that my package will "arrive to tomorrow by 8:00pm" only to be pushed back yet again.

But I also experience that same with Costco, Land's End, Kohl's, Sephora, and many smaller retailers. 'Tis the season...

Re: Fed up with shipping/delivery

I live in California and it takes forever to get anything from QVC. It came quicker 30 hrs ago. I think many items are shipped from vendor. We order, they send order to vendor, and vendor sends from there.  And it is impossible to cancel anything just about. Around thankgiving I ordered some st Claire's food items, it came thawed, smashed and was certifiable for the trash bin. What a waste killed me to throw out so much food.  QVC refunded, I reordered, this was 2 weeks before thanksgiving. Said it would be here nov 20, I cancelled a few days later as now it had ship date of dec. Coukdnt cancel , called coukdnt cancel. Then after thanksgiving it was cancelled because they were sold out, lol.  I lucked out.  My usual delivery is 10-14 days for anything. Some items if I want them I order 2 day... then I get it within 5 days.

Re: Fed up with shipping/delivery

I ordered from HSN on the 5th...still waiting.

There's always a lot to be thankful for if you take time to look for it.
For example, I am sitting here thinking how nice it is that wrinkles don't hurt.

@CalminHeart That's great your Lands End items shipped so quickly. My beef with LE is that they take a week or longer to receive any order I have ever placed. It always frustrated me.
