While parts of his book are in dispute, he is not being recognized as an author. He is being recognized for his service to his country. If the governor of Texas wanted to honor him for that service by declaring Feb. 2 as his day, that is his choice. Again, it's for his service overseas that he's been declared a hero not because he wrote a book or that there was a movie made based on that book.

I saw this in the NYT today and agree 100%:
Kyle thought putting a loaded gun in the hands of a disturbed man was a good idea? Adam Lanza's mother thought that putting a loaded gun in the hands of her crazy son was a good idea too. They both paid with their lives. And their stupidity help kill many others.

My BFF & I were talking about the movie the other night. He's all 'pro-military' so I was surprised when I asked him, 'are you going to go see it?'. 'No way....he was just doing his job. Why are we celebrating someone who kills for a living?' Interesting spin.
