Does anyone have it?
I just got a call from a co-worker who asked if I would mind replacing her at an upcoming dietary seminar, in August, because it would mean traveling to Seattle (we're in Spokane) and she does not fly.
I explained I couldn't, I would be on vacation that week, and maybe she could drive, if she really is afraid to fly (it's such an easy 45 minute flight). She got rather snippy and said No, she is not driving, she also has arthritis in her knees, that makes it uncomfortable for her to just ride in a car for 5 hrs.
She asked if my plans were such that they couldn't be changed to another week?
Well, no they really are not, but, when this woman took her position, she knew that there would be some occasional travel involved.
I still haven't decided if I'll switch or not; but, it got me thinking.
If you're afaid to fly, why? It is far and away the safest mode of travel. You're far more likely to be killed driving to the airport, than you are in a plane crash, far more.
I'm not talking about not liking going thru security or the little nuisances, but, if you have a real fear of flying, what is it?
That has to be hard, i truly can't imagine having that fear. Flying is such an easy way and fast way to get from point A to point B.
