Dunkin' Donuts (Massachusetts)

Both of my favorites are local places, so naming them wouldn't mean anything to anyone.

I purchase my favorite donuts from Whole Foods because they are vegan, but Whole Foods gets them from a local bakery (which is a lot farther away from me than Whole Foods).

My favorite is the maple donut followed by the apple.

For glazed donuts ONLY, Krispy Kreme. I find their other varieties ordinary.

It was a HUGE deal when LA got Dunkin' Donuts. I've heard SO much, for years, about the fabulousness of both the donuts and the coffee. I was not impressed by either. I found them very ordinary. There were many local independent mom & pop places and smallish local chains I would rather go to. My consistent SoCal favorite over many years was DK's - they are all over.

I honestly don't know when the last time is I had a donut but my favorites when I did are from a local bakery, the same place that did my wedding cake.

I can't even eat a Krispy Kreme glazed donut, it's just so horrendously sweet. Tried it once and never again.

Hands down Krispy Kreme!  When the "Hot Now" sign is out watchout.

FYI a lot of people do not know that just because there is a "Hot Now" sign lit up does not mean the donuts are being made fresh coming off the conveyer belt. Some KK's just put hot glaze over exisiting donuts to say they are Hot Now.

When you see the "Hot Now" sign in the window and you can watch the donuts being made and the glaze going over them you are then in donut heaven!

oh gosh I get one donut maybe once a year or two at the most but haven't had one in a few years now. My favorite ever was from a little local donut shop and either the pineapple or blueberry fritter made with fresh pineapple and blueberries. Oh my gosh so good. That was 25 years ago. I'd get one after my final exams each semester to treat myself. 

I used to love donuts and they were my big splurge but these days I prefer other delicious less sweet treats over donuts. But again, rarely do I eat this type of food. I don't like krispy kreme at all. Never understood the hype because I thought they were very cheap tasting, almost like the packaged kind in the store with all the preservatives.
