Without a doubt, Have You Forgotten by Daryl Worley.

Just listenend and watched on You Tube and, as I always do, cried.

Re: Favorite Song commemorating 9/11

When the MILITARY songs the national anthem. At least they sing it with reverence and respect, unlike some so called pop stars do. They butcher it. Francis Scott Key would roll over in his grave if he heard how some "singers" try and "jazz up" the song.

Re: Favorite Song commemorating 9/11

@skatting44   An impressive list but not all songs were written by the recording artist(s).

In fact, Cher's "Song for the Lonely" was actually recorded in July 2001.  It was only after 9/11 that she said the song took on new meaning for her.

Not to diminish the talents of these perfomers, but songwriters should always be given credit, too.

Just a bit of info.

Alan Jackszon's "Where Were You When The World Stopped Turning" is iconic and brilliantly captured the event, to me.

@HonestLife,

Mine too! chills!

I also love Lee Greenwood's God Bless the USA, though it was written in 1984. It thanks all those who gave their lives.

@Cakers3

 Thanks for added info , guess Wikipedia  listing the songs as "  artists/composers "  was not complete .
