I started high school in 1981. Instead of being into Journey, Duran Duran, Lover Boy, REO Speedwagon and bands that were popular then, I was into music popular when I was born- The Doors, Janis Joplin, Cream, Traffic, CCR, The Allman Brothers. Aisde from a few acts I was not into 80s music. My favorite band was the Rolling Stones. At the start of my freshman year I saw them at Vetern's Stadium in Philidelphia.
I still like those 60s bands but since the 90s I have also been into alternative rock with Weezer being my favorite. As for today's music I tend to listen to a hard rock station and I am loving Greta Van Fleet, Dirty Honey and Mammoth (Wolfie Van Halen's band)

I graduated HS in 1980 so I was big on Boston, Foreigner and Wild Cherry. My mother loved the Doors, the Rolling Stones and Beatles so I was singing all their songs in the 1960's as we drug Broadway in her Pink Edsel and then in her 1968 Ford Mustang. When I started dragging Broadway in my own car in the 1970's it felt strange not having my Mom in my passenger seat with me.
I still listen to the same music as I did back then.

While I have always liked a lot of different music I am truly a Rolling Stones fan at heart and have always been. Then and now.

Then: The Bee Gees are my all-time favorites. Teen favorites were Elvis and the Beatles (early recordings before Sgt. Pepper.)
Now: Birds chirping and quiet tranquility.

You have good taste!
I am older than you, came of age during the 60's and that era, and the 70's, will always be my favorite music.
A lot of 80's music was ******, notable exceptions being (but not limited to!) Bowie, Queen, Prince, Talking Heads, Police, Clash.
