Re: Favorite Music Then and Now

Then: Chicago, Captain & Tennille (Don't Laugh'!), and when I got to college it was Styx.

Now:  I mostly listen to Southern Gospel music but I do like some of the rock oldies and even some of the newer stuff.

Re: Favorite Music Then and Now

I watched The Beatles on the Ed Sullivan show in 1964.  From then on I've enjoyed lots of rock and roll.  Always had a thing for George Harrison.

I will never like hip hop or rap.  I am okay with a lot of music through the years.  I also enjoy classical music and jazz.  We lost Chick Corea this last year and that was sad.

Love Will Keep Us Together.  That summer I kept my bedroom radio on all day so I could hear every time that song came on.

Then:  I listened to whatever records my older sibling played, mostly rock, some folk, in the 60's.  Always loved the voice of Patsy Cline.

Now, more eclectic:

The Bus Boys

Solomon Burke

The Wailin' Jennys

Blues Country

Heather Masse

Norah Jones

Mahalia Jackson

R. Carlos Nakai

Pokey LaFarge

Bonnie Raitt

Emmylou Harris

The Cars

The Animals

Teen Years   Bob Dylan and the Beatles and The Doors and The Who.

1980s           During the season, did standing room at the Met Opera (then $5) with another opera fiend at least once a week.

Now?  Almost everyting.  Alison Kraus and bluegrass, classical music, oldies (thanks to You Tube), show tunes, jazz.  Like it all, especially when cleaning the house.
