I think they are creepy.

Why don't they have mother son dances? I've never heard of that.

To me, they are what create that urge for young women to date older men.

The school my kids went to had both father/daughter and mother/son dances.

How can you say father/daughter dances are creepy? They are very sweet and my 4 daughters and their dad loved them. The girls felt very special and the dances never ""created an urge"" for any of them to date older men. IMO that is creepy and just silly.

I agree.

There is nothing wrong with a dad dancing with his little girl.

A friend just took his young daughter to one. They had a great time, and the pics they took were adorable.

So a Father/Daughter dance which where I live is middle school is what starts the urge for young girls to date older men. So with that way of thinking should a father take his daughter to the movies, or out to lunch or dinner or would that also lead to dating older men. REALLY!

Even our local Girl Scouts had daddy daughter dances, in fact my DH stood in for those girls who did not have a dad so they would not feel left out

Stop being afraid of what could go wrong and start being positive what could go right.

Our schools here have both. I don't see it as creepy.

How nice of your DH to do that.

My son is in kindergarten and they have father/daughter and mother/son dances at his school.

I fail to see this connection. Would you care to explain your POV?
