Re: Fashion purchase I most regret making from QVC in 2016

I purchased 3 Susan Graver dresses last spring.  I have to admit I don't own a pretty dress, so I bought 3 in different patterns.  When I received them, I tried them on quickly, didn't hate them, and figured I'd return 2 of the 3.

Well, it's now January. I totally forgot about the dresses, which cost over $150 plus shipping. I wasn't crazy about the top of the dress, which had this kind of strange piece of hardware like a ring below the neckline, connecting both sides of the dress.

I guess I'll either have them hemmed for the spring, sell them, donate them, or let them live in my closet for yet another year.

What a waste of money, but it's my own fault!

Re: Fashion purchase I most regret making from QVC in 2016

[ Edited ]

A whole lotta years ago I bought 2 pairs of Bradley Bayou pants.  They are a heavier weight knit fabric with a really wide flared leg which I guess was the style back then.  I bought a black pair and a blue pair and wore them each only once.  I can't seem to get rid of them though because they are Bradley Bayou like that should mean something to me now.  Bad purchase bought on an impulse and now that I have it on my mind. I think I'll put them in a donation bag.

sorry I broke the rules,,,obviosuly these were not bought in 2016.

I'm sure not to make any friends with the Louis Delolio fan club here.  I bought quite a few of the sweaters, whisper knit, sleeveless, turtleneck and v-neck long sleeve in many colors last Winter.  Read the reviews and due to the large following here.  Well, not what I expected.  The sweaters for me don't seem to hold their shape well, don't launder well and all wrinkle while wearing.  Once again, please don't hate me - I spent quite a sum on these sweaters and regret it most days.

Logo.  The shark hem ones.  Look tacky, like when you used to tie your sweat shirt around your waist during a run.  The straight hem ones not bad, but so thin and do not wear well.  IM dresses nice, but got a  lace peplum top I Should have returned.

I regret spending so much money at the Q for years after retirement and the death of my husband.  What does that tell you?  Stupid.  I,m so much better now.  Don,t need anything anymore.  Never brought from them when I was working.  No social media like today.  You had to be home to watch.

I bought the same pair of Clark shoes in three different colors, same size and one was very narrow in width compared to the other two. I just donated them yesterday as they were always uncomfortable.

Clothing....I purchased some Denim and Co t shirts that were lace and they wore terribly. They started piling within two wearings. Also some Linea didn't live up to expectations. I have to dry clean his pants because otherwise they pill and lose their shape. I am OK with that but it was a bit disappointing.

About 2 years ago,I purchased a sweater set from Louis DelOlio. Now  I really considered the purchase because, the price was so high. So I said to myself, they always talk about what a fabalous designer he is and the quality is unbelievable,so I went ahead with the expensive purchase.First the color was very dull...but I figured if it was so great,I would keep it. So,I wore it Christmas to my sisters house. It pilled  to the point it was embarresing. It looked like he had used the cheapest fabric he could find and I know price is different to us all but for $120.00,it was the worst purchase I have ever made from qvc in all these years!!

@moskyI think his use of rayon has ended up being a problem for many of us. I had similar things happen to his sweaters. My dry cleaner said that it's the fabric content. Rayon has a tendency to pill.

Re: Fashion purchase I most regret making from QVC in 2016

Omg, too many to mention.

I like D&Co pants, and keep coming back for them, but every once in a while I decide to order a top from them or SG.  Some of their fabrics feel like rubber to me. I think they call it Perfect Jersey or Fleece, but in my perception, they are rubber. I sent some back, but there were several that I wound up donating, having worn them only once. That's just stupidity on my part, though, I can't blame QVC.

I ordered a pair of Vionic slip-on sneakers last year, because I usually love my Vionic purchases. These were awful, but since I was in the midst of a medical crisis with my mom, I didn't send them back. They are sitting in my closet with the tags still on them.

This happens less often now that I don't watch the fashion shows, but it does bother me that I spent my hard-earned dollars on things I never wore.

Well, I fell for the hype--purchased 2 Obi belts--have never worn them--if you are long waisted, they might look terrific--unfortunately--I am short waisted and they just do not work--will save them  for Grandaughters or donate to a worthy cause--Oh well--in the words of Forrest Gump--"stupid is as stupid  does"

Looks like Obi Wan Kenobi could use a couple new ones. Then he can change his name to Obi Two Kenobi and Obi Three Kenobi.

Re: Fashion purchase I most regret making from QVC in 2016

I don't think I would say regret, there are things that I bought that I would not have purchased if I put more thought into the purchase.   Yes, that pale blue obi belt is once such thing.  I paid full price for it and I had a vision of how I would style it and I have a bag and shoes that coordinate beautifully with it.  But for some reason, I just never went with the vision.  I think because when summer came, a wide leather belt just seemed to "hot" to wear with my maxi dresses.  After that, I forgot I had it.   I bought a gorgeous Dooney tote, I love love it.  I carried it almost all summer but I needed a new handbag like I needed a third leg..lol   And since I carried that bag all summer, I didn't carry any of my other summer bags.  What was I thinking?   Oh, I was thinking the bag was a perfect match for that pale blue obi belt...lol   I'm not going to beat myself up over it.  I'd like to say I've learned a lesson but we all know that isn't true...
