My daughter, gave a big pool party Sat.  Friend, family, including my great grand kids.  I didn,t go.  I asked my son why, they didn,t wear mask, or keep distance.  He said, they want to live there lives.  I said maybe death.  This seems to be the norm now.  My daughter 58, sons 59 and 60.  I can,t believe how stupid.

@qvcaddition Don't worry.  I'm sure they are saying the same thing about you.  There is enough conflicting information to go around to support any view you want.  And lots of room for all of us to not think we are the only ones on the planet who are right due to the information we believe and the choices we make.

Everything we do is a risk and we all chose our own tolerances. I live in Oklahoma.  I've gone to the storm shelter a lot in my live; relatives have NEVER gone and we are both alive.  I don't know how things work, but they do so live and let live.

I rather Do it my way than be dead or worse yet suffer.

At 84, I have been in quarantine since this started.  My 61 son did grocery shopping for me in the beginning. Now I shop online.  I have seen both sons from a distant.  Phone calls, emails and text

Have not seen any of the rest of the family.

Good for them, outside activities are much safer than being inside.  Must have felt good to get out and have fun with family and friends.

Not when they are going to infect other people, and it will happen.  They have been social the last month with hair cut in private home of the beautician friend.  I,M SORRY, FOR ME THEY ARE BEING SELFISH.

After what I have seen with my own eyes, I believe that there are just as many, maybe more,  who are living their own lives, and doing what they want without wearing masks or social distancing, as there are those of us who are trying to heed the warnings of experts. I do realize we have been told different things from these experts, however, one way to be somewhat safer is to stay in and take precautions when you go out. And avoid large crowds whether its family or not.

Yeah, this is the million dollar question.  I imagine the answer is probably one we hate to hear because if they are being that cavalier about it they will not suddenly develop a sense of responsibility.  Smiley Sad

It wasn,t just her family, it was friends and neighbors and the only young ones, besides my greatgrankids were my grandkids in their late 30,s.  If they kept it contained in family only ok, but that was not the case from what my son said. I just think they are not taking it seriously.

I wonder when I read that people say they have been "quarantined" for a particular time period.  I wonder what they mean by "quarantine" as I have heard people say they are "quarantined" but they still go out to the supermarket, get curbside food pick up, and in some instances they have family members coming to visit, family members who have been "quarantined" but go to the supermarket, Lowe's, the drugstore.

That's not quarantine.

I know what quarantine is,no where, and no one in house.

@qvcaddition    It would seem that we, with more experience and wisdom, view this pandemic situation with a different eye than the "younger generation".  I too, don't understand their blase attitude or lack of concern.  I just hope you stay far away from them in the future.

I have to, i,m 84.  My two sons have done some shopping, and put it in my garage, the I go in and wipe stuff down.  The rest of the family, I haven,t seen or heard from.

N95 masks are available through construction supply outlets.

I can't find them, or when I do, the website says their supplies are allocated to health care, etc.

Placed an order last week at work.  Will check the file and post vendor tomorrow.

Thank you, @CrazyDaisy , that is kind of you.

In reading this thread, I wonder if businesses held to hard rules about what is allowed, the crowd issues wouldn't be an issue.

Some know my mother died back in March. Still not buried. I spoke with a representative at the cemetery yesterday and here are the rules:

1) 10 people max allowed. This includes the driver of the hearse.

2) ALL must be in their cars and STAY in their cars. All car windows MUST be up.

3) ALL cars and passengers park and STAY at the curb.

4) Coffin or Urn/Vault is removed by cemetery workers; driver stays in the hearse.

5) NO service of any type. Once the deceased is removed from the vehicle, everyone must leave.

That's it. The only change from before is they allow the extra people. It was just ONE family member and the hearse driver. In our case, DH and I will pick up my moms' urn and vault from the funeral home, place her in the trunk of the car (required in not using a hearse), park at the curb, pop the trunk and wave good-bye. *heavy sigh* Everyone else is out of state so for them, driving hours (or days) to just turn around and leave is not worth the energy, time and money (don't blame them AT ALL!).

I asked do people ignore the rules and she said "only the very stupid ones. In that case, we have them escorted or arrested from the property. We ALWAYS have police on hand for each appointment for burial".  THis place obviously enforces the rules and takes measures to remove those who don't follow them. Big determent, I would say. What if all businesses did something like this? I have no faith that they would, however, because they would lose money.

Our gyms opened here in Ohio yesterday.  Everything here is open but everything still has restrictions.  However, the restrictions are suggestions and in some places aren't being followed.

We camped this past weekend.  The campground put out a list of rules however, they clearly weren't being enforced.  We were fine because there was just the 2 of us.  Rumor had it that there were people from the state throughout various campgrounds to see what was going on.
