Re: Factor meal plans

[ Edited ]

I see the delivery vans around town fairly often so I figure the meals are good but I would only want meals for two days.

That's what they say, refrigerated shipped with an ice pack.  Still mid to high 90's here so I'll wait.

Glancing at the site but will look at it more carefully later, a $7 / meal popped up and they look like big meals.  That's with the special of 50% off first order 20% off next month.

Will check further for the cancellation policy too.

I just triple checked the cancellation policy and you can cancel anytime on the website or app.  I wasn't going to sign up if that wasn't an option.  Check the FAQs if you'd like to read it.

We have been using Factor for about 3 years now.  We do the 10 meal plan with about every other month.   It can be pricey but at the end I share what we do to make it affordable.

They arrive next day UPS when shipped in a padded box with frozen ice packs.  They are good for 7 days upon arrival.  They are shipped fresh and meant to be stored in the fridge.  They only take 2:30 minutes in the microwave.

They have wide variety of meals to choose from.  We tend to order more of the chicken based meals.  It's a plump tender moist breast.  Husband like the salmon meals.

When choosing each meal, it lists all the nutritions so you can tailor to suit you needs.   Look for an offer where your first box is 50% off.    If you don't like it then it's very easy to cancel online.

What we do is cancel the subscription after it arrives.  About a month later we get a come back and try us again offer for half off the first box again.  We renew, then cancel.  They keep sending the offers no matter what and we repeat.   So with that offer the 10 meal plan ends up being $66 or $6.60 for each restaurant quality meal.   We fix a side salad to go along with it.  We been doing that for 3 years now and gives us a nice meal option and I don't have to cook.

You can go to YouTube and search for Factor Reviews.  Lots of videos showing how it arrives and how it looks and tastes.

I've been buying Factor meals off and on for the last two years.  I found that I like the breakfasts best, so I use the 4-meal plan and then supplement it with some of the breakfast choices.  Since I have specific dietary requirements, the selection gets boring after a while, so I'll suspend my account, then go back to it when the menu selections look appealing again.

Although the meals are intended to be eaten fresh, I've frozen them before when my plans change and I'm not able to consume them within the recommended time frame.  I then cook them from frozen for a longer time at a lower power and they come out fine.

I like that the website shows the nutritional values for each entree so I can choose the ones that fit my diet best.

Will review as soon as I get the plan set up.

Here is what led me to them.

I saw a decent sized box in our package room and it said FACTOR on it in large letters.

Since I have a family member with HEMOPHILIA, I thought "oh, somebody else has hemophilia and they live here!"

About a week later, I walked out of the package room and into the lobby and there must have been

AT LEAST 10 BOXES WITH FACTOR WRITTEN ON THEM OUT THERE!
[I'm sure management loves this use of space!]

So somehow online I saw an ad and thought to check GROUPON to see about the plans.

I had trouble using the Groupon I purchased...it was confusing. 😔

Here is my receipt and my meals are supposed to arrive Sept. 2.

Notice the time frame...I must change out/choose different meals by August 28.

Thank you so much for your reply! This helps me by answering some questions ihave.

For instance, me too, I have some dietary needs and have not researched this aspect yet.

I also think the plan I ordered (also. I chose 4 meals) will be A LOT more food than I normally eat

so thank you for writing about how you are able to freeze these to eat later!

@Kachina624

See @CoffeeNut 's post...

they get 10 meals for $66 so $6.60 per meal.

The plan I chose was for 4 meals which ended up being $13.00 per meal...

when I used Groupon that was part of the confusion for me...

the fact that I needed to choose the EXACT number of meals I chose when I signed up.

Just Googled the Vegetarian menus. They sound awful! Also looks like a lot of food.
