@JBKO Does your skin appear more dry than usual? Unless she was doing something to your throat and it felt swollen, I can only think of dry skin, hair loss etc as symptoms of thyroid issues.
I have dry skin (post meno). Never lost hair or gained weight and my thyroid was barely functioning :-)

Have you lost the tails of your eyebrows? That can be a sign of a thyroid issue I believe.

Hi everyone! I've been busy with a new job and haven't had much time to post. A few weeks ago I treated myself to a facial and the facialist told me that I should have my thyroid checked. I know you can't all know for sure but what do you think it may be? I was too relaxed and didn't ask her which I guess I should have. I will for sure mention it when I go to the doctor. TIA
Please, do go and have it checked out.. I just posted a thyroid situation in the wellness section.. Years ago I was at the ENT & he told me to go and have my thyroid checked & it turned out that I had an underactive thyroid.. It wouldn't hurt to get it checjed out

Did you have your head propped back - maybe she saw a lump in your thyroid area?

I went for an Adrian Arpel facial in Macys when I was in my early 20s.
The woman giving the facial asked me if I was an alcoholic. I was so startled, I was basically a kid. I said no, why? And she said because I had such pink cheeks.
I said no, I wasn't even a drinker, I'd always thought my pink cheeks were because I was Celtic, a common thing for the Welsh, Irish, etc.
Turns out it was and is what's called a Lupus mask.
Check with your doctor if you're worried.
