You should have asked her. I had thyroid issues and I sincerely doubt it had anything at all to do with your skin. It's possible that she saw or felt what she thinks might be an enlarged thyroid. You must have been nearly unconsious...lol It's such a bizarre thing for a facialist to say that it's strange that you didn't ask why....

See your doctor. That shortness of breath could be tachycardia, meaning a faster than normal heart beat. That was one of the things that made me go to my doctor, it ended up being Grave's Disease which I'd never even considered. I never even considered any thyroid condition. I also had a tremor in both hands and I had never noticed that. Hubby is an RN and he never noticed it either. So, you go for your facials but you won't go to doctor when you have something as potentially serious as a breathing problem...?

@JBKO It is imperative I think for everyone to get a thyroid check. I have hypothyroidism and am under treatment and have been for a year now.

It is unbelieveable and quite amazing just how much our thryoid rules (yes isaid RULES) our lives, body functions, keeps us healthy.

A thyroid check is nothing but a blood test, takes a mere couple of seconds but it's SO important to do. Get this test done.

Definitely see your doctor. Without having asked the facialist why she suggested you have your thyroid checked, it's better to be safe than sorry. For months I was hoarse and coughing. I finally saw a doctor who felt around my throat and ultimately saved my life. If the facialist was just talking about skin condition, no harm done, but if she felt a swelling, it's imperative that you check it out,

I would get that checked out immediately.

She might have noticed your thyroid was enlarged.
