I swear when I set up my facebook account to sell on Marketplace I would receive a notice via e mail that I had a message.

I also use Messenger to contact businesses for quotes, etc.

I don't check facebook all the time and today I missed a message from a company that needed my address to come to the house.

I have checked the help section on Facebook, but no luck.

Any thoughts, thanks

Have you checked your Settings?  From what I've read, FB sometimes changes them to their preferred default, especially when they change Setting options. FB is always changing things behind the scenes.

Something else to check if that company is one you Follow on FB, check your notification settings for that business on their page.

@Mom2Dogs be careful on Marketplace. I was selling a few pieces of furniture out of our motorhome and house and I got very strange vibes from some of the interested parties. I've sold on there in years gone by and had no issues but when I was selling in the spring it was very different. People were asking for my mobile phone # and wanted to send me a message that I would need to enter a code to respond. I just told them that I was not set up for text messages and they stopped talking to me, so I withdrew all my items.
I don't know enough about Marketplace to know what damage that could do but noticed that many of the ads said "do not ask if item is still available".

@We rescue cats About the mobile # scam. I've read a lot about people trying to do this on our local FB page. Glad you are smarter than that.

@We rescue cats   Thanks...I have had some odd requests as well... I only take cash and I don't give out my address until I am certain they will show up.

Two different times almost as soon as an item was listed I got a response..one was legit and I sold a nice handbag..the other I am sure was a scam.

@Icegoddess   I don't follow anyone..I have a friend that I swear reads everything I do on face book so much that I got a fake account to sell some things.  I still have my original account with my real name but I don't want her liking everything that I follow or like.  I have never posted a comment on facebook...I only wanted to sell some things.

I 'liked' one event and she mentioned it to me...

@Icegoddess   Yes I checked the settings, but did not see where I could get email notifications from messenger.

I do not use their app, maybe that makes a difference.

I do have the Messenger app and I get notifications on my phone, not E-mail when my Daughter, usually the only person who messages me, sends me a message. I haven't looked to see if there's an E-mail option as I don't want notifications going there.

As far as Marketplace, Have you looked under your Notification Settings to verify this?  I don't really use Marketplace.  I'm a member of a couple of buy/sell or Free groups that are tied to Marketplace, but I don't ever go to Marketplace.
