@lizzys wrote:I don't have Facebook and after reading this post I checked my church facebook page. Can't view it now. Pretty bad when the church isn't open because of Covid and you can't even view the Facebook page! Hope this is just a glitch with the Facebook page because I too enjoyed reading some public Facebook pages and refuse to join.
@lizzys Yes this is one I used from our Church also & my daughters..I can't get on either one now...I am hoping a glitch also...

Sadly I was dragged kicking and screaming into opening a Facebook a few years ago because its a MUST HAVE for my job and for volunteer work I do for a charity...... And there's privacy issues alright even with their most secure settings...![]()
Here's a funny thing that happened on Facebook....I posted a funny cat meme that said "Never fear cats can ward off the Coronavirus"...and in the photo it had several cats with mean looking faces.... I shared it with my cat loving friends....And Facebook deleted it saying it was "false information about the Coronavirus" .....OMG, guess Facebook can't differentiate between real info and a JOKE!!!!...I thought that was hysterical!!! That shows you the mentality of Facebook....🙄

@Spurt, it is likely a matter of avoiding subjectivity. Delete all or nothing. There was a time when the suggestion to inject bleach into one's self would be taken as a joke but states are still pleading with their residents not to ingest bleach.

@Spurt I never had an interest. I have email, send me a picture of the kids or whatever.
Everyone, and I mean everyone, in DH's family is on it. That is now the mode of invitation for family gatherings, except those requiring a gift, then you get a mailed invitation.
3 yrs. ago my SIL asked why we weren't at a niece's for an after Christmas wing ding. They wondered where we were. I said, well we didn't know about it. They all know we aren't on Facebook. How long does it take to shoot an email? DH and I just chuckled about it. I asked him if he wanted to start an account because that's all his family uses for invitations, he said no.

I am having the same problem this morning and it was working fine last night. I do not have a Facebook account. I go to a number of public Facebook pages for various businesses and such and I get a must log in page for every one of them this morning. I am glad I am not alone but wish Facebook would do something since I assume the problem is on their end. Grrrrrrrrrr

@ceekay I'm thinking it is deliberate, not a glitch. Maybe they changed it to get folks to join.

@CrazyKittyLvr2 I was thinking something like that but it would have a huge impact on businesses that publicize primarily on Facebook. I can live without a Facebook account. Maybe they got hacked. :-)

Wouldn't work on me, but I would be interested to know if it spurred membership among others.

As I related was forced to get a Facebook Account and my friends and family know I'm not really into it....I can totally relate to what you are saying and have the same problem as you.... My sister keeps posting important events and invitations via Facebook which she knows on my off time I seldom look at, but she knows I keep up with my emails....So what does she do, she gets frustrated and calls.."I tagged you on Facebook" and "well are you going or not"---And I'll say GOING WHERE?, WHAT????........
Copy paste it in an email!!!!
